Our origins

While operating under our current name only since 2016, DB Cargo Logistics nevertheless has many years of experience in successfully designing timber and car transportation services. The company can look back over a long history: Nieten Internationale Holztransporte was founded in 1924, Autotransportlogistic GmbH (ATG) for transporting finished vehicles was created in 1992, and Schenker AutomotiveRailNet (SAR) for transporting components was established in 2006.

For the climate

Deutsche Bahn has outlined its measures for supporting climate targets in Germany and Europe as part of its Strong Rail strategy. As the logistics experts within the DB Cargo business unit, we recognise our responsibility by using intelligent and flexible rail logistics concepts to shift traffic from roads to rails, thereby making an active contribution to protecting the environment. This entails working with customers to make greater use of completely CO2-free rail solutions, in addition to using more electric vehicles at our logistics bases.
